Are you ready to put your creativity to the test?
This January, we’re challenging Auckland venues to showcase their skills with no-lo innovation in the first ever Mocktails for Many Competition.
Here’s what you need to know:
Feature one mocktail on your menu throughout Dry January.
Your creation must use at least one Project Hydrosol product.
Our judges will visit, taste, and score your entry on Taste, Presentation, and Originality.
Top-scoring venues will be invited to the Live Grand Finale on Monday 16 Feb 2026 location TBC

Throughout January, venues across Auckland will be showcasing their creativity with mocktails featuring one of our six(6) hero products:
PH Universal Botanical Hydrosol
N/A Sweet Vermouth
N/A Bitter Orange Aperitif
Sin Rose (Name is a WIP)
Add Lib Botanical
Add Lib Frontier
Your mocktail must use at least one Project Hydrosol product.
Must be non-alcoholic (fermented bases like kombucha okay, but ABV <0.5%).
Recipe should be somewhat reproducible (no super rare ingredients).
Bring printed recipe card for judges. Recipes to be sent to judges before hand.
No max ingredients.
Share the story/inspiration behind your drink.
Judged on Flavour(Purity/Clarity), Creativity, Presentation(Form and Function), Sustainability, and Storytelling.

For the finalists
Each competitor has 6 minutes to make their drink.
Provide 4 serves (4 judges, 1 each). Competitors must bring their own garnishes/ingredients/mise en place/prep.
Equipment: Basic ice and bar tools provided. Competitors bring specialty equipment if needed.
Time Limits: 6 minutes per competitor.
People’s Choice Award
Public voting will open online in February 2026.
Each person may cast one vote. Multiple or fraudulent votes may be disqualified.
The People’s Choice winner will be announced at the Live Grand Finale.

Mocktails for Many (MFM)
A Non-Alcoholic Cocktail Competition in (Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa)
1. Eligibility
1.1. Entry is open to individuals aged 18 years or older residing in New Zealand.
1.2. Entrants must be able to attend the competition in person on the scheduled event date.
1.3. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the event organisers or sponsors may be excluded at the organiser’s discretion.
2. Entry Requirements
2.1. All entries must feature a non-alcoholic cocktail, for our purposes this means not containing more than 1.15% Alcohol by Volume OR not more than .15 of a standard drink in total. (Roughly equivalent to a non-alc beer).
2.2. Original recipes only. Entrants must be the sole creators of the submitted recipe.
2.3. Each entrant may submit a maximum of one (1) cocktail recipe unless otherwise stated.
2.4. Entries must be submitted via the official entry form by the specified closing date.
3. Ingredients & Presentation
3.1. Ingredients must be safe for consumption and compliant with New Zealand food regulations.
3.2. No intoxicating substances, restricted items, or hazardous materials may be used.
3.3. Entrants are responsible for supplying any specialty ingredients unless organisers specify otherwise.
3.4. Presentation glassware and equipment may be supplied onsite; however, competitors may bring their own tools.
3.5. Recipes must adhere to the event’s non-alcoholic policy, including mixers, tinctures, bitters, or ferments.
4. Judging Criteria
4.1. Entries will be judged by a panel selected by the organisers.
4.2. Judging may include, but is not limited to:
Purity and Clarity of Flavour
Creativity and originality
Aroma and presentation
Technical skill and method
Use of non-alcoholic ingredients
4.3. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Prizes
5.1. Prize details will be announced prior to the event.
5.2. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
5.3. If a prize becomes unavailable, organisers reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
6. Conduct & Safety
6.1. Competitors must behave in a professional, respectful, and safe manner at all times.
6.2. Any entrant who behaves improperly, violates competition rules, or endangers others may be disqualified.
6.3. Entrants are responsible for following all venue safety rules and food-handling requirements.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1. By entering, competitors grant the organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use submitted recipes, images, video, and likeness for promotional purposes.
7.2. Competitors retain ownership of their recipes’ intellectual property.
8. Photography & Media
8.1. The event may be photographed or recorded.
8.2. By participating, entrants consent to the use of their image and participation in marketing, social media, or public relations material.
9. Cancellation or Changes
9.1. Organisers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond their control (including but not limited to extreme weather, venue issues, or public health directives).
9.2. If the event is cancelled, organisers will not be liable for any costs incurred by entrants.
10. Liability
10.1. Entrants participate at their own risk.
10.2. Organisers will not be liable for personal injury, loss, or damage except where required by New Zealand law.
10.3. Entrants are responsible for ensuring their ingredients and tools pose no risk to others.
11. Privacy
11.1. Personal information collected during entry will be used solely for administration of the competition.
11.2. Information will be handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
12. Acceptance of Terms
12.1. By submitting an entry, participants acknowledge they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.
